How to Make Time Pass Faster

Tired of waiting for December 1st? Is every minute lazily passing by a million times slower than the one before? Have you studied every thread on the Student Doctor Network forums so many times your eyes have gone crossed? Never fear! I've put together a list of ways you can make those 26 days (I'm not counting) before the first day of Dental School decisions are released pass by in a flash!

.) Take up a new hobby! Ever thought about picking up a musical instrument? Well, there's no time like the present. Now you can finally be the harpist, flutist, or acoustic guitar player you've always known you could be!

.) Solve a jigsaw puzzle. The more pieces the better. Buy one with a peaceful, serene theme, such as boats on a river, or palm trees swaying in the wind. Best to stay away from anything emotionally stirring.

.) Express yourself creatively. A great way to get out some of those feelings is materializing them. Paint a picture, sculpt a statue, make some pottery.

.) Take whatever you just created and destroy it. Don't you feel better now?

.) Hibernate. Nothing passes the time faster than ignoring all responsibilities and entering a state of eternal slumber. Before you know it, December will be knocking on your door!

.) Pick up a new book! My suggestion? War and Peace.

.) Remember those classes you're enrolled in? Oh yeah, that's still a thing. Maybe you should study for that exam coming up? Oh no? Stupid suggestion? I'm sorry.

.) Write a blog post instead of finishing that research project that's due tomorrow. (That's some real meta stuff right there.)

.) Refresh your AADSAS portal for the 100th time. Maybe this time it'll change!

.) How come your bookcase isn't organized alphabetically? You should probably get on that.

.) Go back to that jigsaw puzzle you started a while ago. Why aren't those palm trees looking as serene as they used to...?

.) Reconnect old friendships that you've been ignoring in order to focus on applying to dental school.

.) End those reconnected relationships when they start asking you about when you'll hear back from dental schools.

.) The holidays are coming! Why not decorate your house or apartment? Bury those emotions deep in Santa's fluffy white beard!

.) No, I'm so serious about that school work. As much as you wish it were, the semester's not over yet.

.) Do you have multiple knots in your back and neck from storing all of your tension in your muscles? Try yoga! Or stress eating.

.) Time to throw that jigsaw puzzle in the trash. Your tears were staining the pieces anyway.

.) Read the rest of my blog posts to catch up on my life as a pre-dental student! ;) (Shameless plug.)

    1. Who doesn't have a countdown going?! I think it's a requirement at this point.
